1 Law:: comp n (in the discipline of critical chronological study of the origins and transmission of hadith, and of the identity of the relaters of the hadith) the names of two relaters of a hadith (or tradition) that are rhyming in Arabic with somewhat similar typography but that are pronounced differently often due to the juxtaposition of one or more dotted (of which there are fifteen) and undotted (of which there are 14) letters in the two names, eg جرير (jarir) and حريز (hariz) that are the names of two relaters of the hadith. Arabic alphabet has fifteen dotted and fourteen undotted letters.
